Events at the CRWS

The 2012 12u Major/70 Cal Ripken World Series is the home of family fun and Where the World Comes to Play!

Take a look at the events that will be happening during the tournament, August 10-19:

International Dance Extravaganza

August 15th

To follow the 8:00pm game

Following the conclusion of the 8:00pm game between Mexico and Japan, all fans can come down onto the field at Cal Sr.’s Yard for a big group photo. Then, fans can stay on the field for a fun-filled evening of dancing to the Cha-Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, and many more!

The International Dance Extravaganza is a great way to let loose and have a little fun after the pool play round officially concludes.




Opening Ceremonies

Friday, August 10th @ Cal Sr.’s Yard

5:00pm

Meet the world-class teams that have traversed the Road to Aberdeen and earned the right to play in the Cal Ripken World Series.

  • Teams introduced as they parade into Cal Sr.’s Yard
  • Skills Competitions
  • Home Run Derby
  • Opening Game – Harford County vs. Middle Atlantic (starting at 8:00pm)
  • Spectacular fireworks show



CRWS Parade & Celebration

Saturday, August 11th in Downtown Aberdeen, MD

Parade begins at 11:00am

Celebrate the Cal Ripken World Series in downtown Aberdeen, MD – the very town where Cal Ripken, Jr. and Bill Ripken grew up playing baseball with their father, Cal Ripken, Sr.

  • 9:00am – 11:00am – Flag Run from Churchville to downtown Aberdeen.
  • 11:00am – Parade begins at W. Bel Air Avenue and Law Street in downtown Aberdeen and continues to Festival Park
  • 2:30pm – Pool play resumes at the Cal Ripken World Series

All-Star Teen Dance Party

Moved to Sunday, August 12th

9:00pm – 11:00pm

All of the teenage fans of the CRWS can join us for a FREE dance at the CRWS in Aberdeen, MD.

The All-Star Teen Dance Party will begin following the conclusion of the 8:00pm game between Maryland and the Southwest Regional Champs. The Dance Party ends promptly at 11:00pm.




Splash Days

August 12th & 13th

Opens at noon each day

$5/day or $8 for a 2-day Pass

Splash Day is back at the Cal Ripken World Series! Kids will have a blast on the inflatable water slides as they beat the heat.

The water-themed attractions will be open on Sunday from noon to 10:00pm and on Monday from noon to 6:00pm.

Italian Feast

August 12th

6:00pm and 8:00pm

$16/person

Dig into an all-you-can-eat Italian Feast while taking in the action at the Cal Ripken World Series!

  • 6:00pm – All-you-can-eat of your favorite Italian foods for 2 hours during the Harford County vs. Southeast game.
  • 8:00pm – All-you-can-eat of your favorite Italian foods for 2 hours during the Maryland State vs. Southwest game.

Yoga & Zumba Classes

August 13th-17th

9:00am each day

$5/day per person

The CRWS is all about family fun and healthy living – so why not enjoy a little Yoga or Zumba while you’re in town for the tournament?

  • Monday, Wednesday & Friday – Yoga on the Turf Circle at 9:00am
  • Tuesday & Thursday – Zumba on the Turf Circle at 9:00am

Carnival

August 14th-19th

12:00pm – 10:00pm

Tickets can be purchased at the Cal Ripken World Series

Introducing the first-ever Carnival at the CRWS, featuring 12-16 rides and games for children and parents to enjoy! The atmosphere at the CRWS has always been lively, but this year it rises to a whole new level.

  • Opens each day at noon from Tuesday, August 14th through Sunday, August 19th
  • Closes at 10:00pm or at the end of the last game Tuesday through Saturday
  • Carnival will be open from noon to 10:00pm during the consolation and All-Star games on Thursday, August 16th
  • Closes at 7:00pm on Sunday, August 19th



Crab Feast

August 14th

6:00pm and 8:00pm

$31/person

It’s an all-you-can-eat Crab Feast at the Cal Ripken World Series!

  • 6:00pm – All-you-can-eat crabs for 2 hours during the Dominican Republic vs. Japan game.
  • 8:00pm – All-you-can-eat crabs for 2 hours during the New England vs. Maryland State game.

Crab Feast at the CRWS

Karaoke Contest

August 16th

To follow 3:00pm game

Watch and listen to CRWS teams as they show off their singing talent in a fun-filled karaoke contest to follow the first consolation game on Thursday, August 16th.

Contestants will sing between innings during the 5:30pm consolation game and the 8:00pm All-Star Game on Thursday night.




Reba McEntire in Concert

August 17th at Ripken Stadium

Gates open at 6:00pm

Concert begins at 8:00pm

Join us for a pre-game Reba celebration at the CRWS at 5:00pm on Friday, August 17th. Then, head across the street to Ripken Stadium to see Reba McEntire live during the first-ever Cal Ripken World Series Concert.

Post-Game Live Music

August 18th at the CRWS

To follow post-game awards ceremony after International Championship

Join us at The Ripken Experience to share in music and relaxation and good times following the Awards Ceremony. A chance to come together and celebrate the crowning of the United States and International Champions.

Shores Calling will be performing the song “Shine,” the theme song for the 2011 Cal Ripken World Series.
